Copperwood

This small tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 550 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, curved trunk covered in very thick, smooth, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the very hard wood is silver.

The small handful of branches are short stubs and are covered with small bunches of rough, small, perforated leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in amber and white varieties.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, slate, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
