Indigo Flower

This short flower grows up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. Its orange stem is thick and straight with a curved tip, and the large, gray leaves are very thin with smooth edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

6 to 9 medium-sized flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 5 cm (2.0 inches) wide, with solid indigo petals decorated with cyan dots and a amber central disk. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 20 curved petals. They are hardy.

It has a strong scent that smells like cheese, and it has excessive amounts of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.
