Lilac Spike

This short flower grows up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. Its cream stems grow in bunches of 7 and are very thick and straight, and the large, gray-green or lilac leaves are spear shaped with toothed edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Dozens of small flowers grow in bunches along the stem. The flowers are 15 cm (5.9 inches) wide, with petals that are dark grey in the center, dark red in the middle and brown at the edges. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 50 petals. They are sturdy.

It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like cinnamon, and it has a fair amount of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects , but is also visited by a small species of bird.
