Copperfern

This copper moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In damp forests.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is overwhelmingly flexible; it can easily endure flooding and draughts.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release thousands of spores.
