Shieldleaf Cinnamon Succulent

This small caudiciform grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. The fan-like stem is orange-yellow, and is covered in sharp spines. It has a crooked, thick, gnarled, light grey trunk atop a thick block of smooth, exposed roots. The branches are bulbous and caramel or black and are short, rigid and upright.

The smooth-edged, shield-shaped leaves are intense green with amber tips. They are tough, and take little effort to detach.

It is steady-growing, taking 4 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with azure petals and a yellow center grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 31 curved petals. It has a weak scent that smells like cinnamon.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the orange flesh is sticky, and the gentle red sap is thin.
