Crimson Moss

This red moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In rainy mountain ranges, and On trees.
It is large, growing up to 8 inches (20 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps, and is slightly flimsy.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release millions of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
