Copperwood

This average-sized tree grows up to 21 meters (68.9 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 175 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a narrow, slanted trunk covered in paper-thin, rough, silver bark, and inside, the very dense wood is copper-coloured.

The branches are very short and slender and are covered with large amounts of smooth, small, very thick leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of green that gradient shifts to yellow at the top.

In late summer it forms large, bronze, spiky-shelled seeds.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.
