Bog Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In bogs.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and can overwhelm an area rapidly, and is very strong; it can easily endure flooding and draughts.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release millions of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
