Emeraldwood Moss

This brown moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas On rotten logs, and In heathlands.
It is short, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they are exceptionally hardy, and is very sturdy.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release millions of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
