Waterstem Tree

This small tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 254 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, angular trunk covered in rough, black bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is dark brown.

The abundance of branches trail down to the ground and are covered with small bunches of soft, miniature, long, narrow leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of pink-red that gradient shifts to dark grey at the top.

In late summer it forms small, grey berries.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.
