Violetpine

This big shrub grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for around 16 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several long and flexible, straight stems covered in thick, wrinkled, pine-coloured bark, and the wood inside is light brown.

The branches are long, thin and wispy with thousands of twigs that and are covered with very large amounts of giant, thin, leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are solid purple with dark brown edges, flexible and sticky.

In late spring it produces lots of tiny, violet flowers with wide petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a weak scent that smells like misty mornings.
