Silverleaf Maple

This average-sized tree grows up to 58 meters (190.3 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 584 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, straight trunk covered in fine, knobbly, yellow bark, and inside, the soft wood is brown.

The abundance of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with copious amounts of smooth, giant, circular leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are either silver, or ashy orange with blood red patches.

In late summer it forms large, grey, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
