Emerald Spore Moss

This brown moss is commonly found blanketing small areas On trees.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they spread and grow quickly, and is very light.
When mature, emerald oval-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release hundred of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
