Waterlog Fern

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 51 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of narrow, crooked stems covered in silky, gray bark, and the wood inside is black.

The branches are short, thin and wispy with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of huge, perforated, leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are found in yellow, orange and slate varieties, flimsy and covered in fine hairs.

In early spring it produces many bunches of medium-sized, dark purple flowers with stiff, pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a faint scent that smells like vomit.
