Blue Spine Caudiciform

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This small caudiciform grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The narrow stem is sky blue, and is covered in handfuls of flexible pink spines. It has a wavy, wide, silver trunk atop a wide ball of wrinkled, exposed roots. The branches are very thick and aquamarine or cyan and are tall, rigid and upright.

The toothed-edged, very thick leaves are solid brown with brown zig-zags. They are rigid, and take little effort to detach.

It is steady-growing, taking 4 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with alternating petals of pale red and olive, with a violet central disk, grow at the top, reappearing once every 2 years. The flower head is made up of 10 petals in raised layers. It has a mildly strong scent that smells like faeces.

The caudiciform's skin is tough, the brown flesh is sticky, and the azure sap is thin.
