Twistwood

This enormous tree grows up to 103 meters (337.9 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 161 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a wide, twisting trunk covered in smooth, brown-green bark, and inside, the dense wood is light brown.

The excessive amount of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with small bunches of clammy, huge, very thick leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are either slate or crimson, with cyan edges.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of medium-sized, turquoise blossoms with kidney-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have a strong scent that smells like fresh linen.

In late summer it forms small, hazel aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
