Clinging Coralvine

Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This massive flower grows up to 14.2 feet (4.3 meters) tall. Its hazel or caramel stem is very thick and straight with a curved tip, and the large, pink-red leaves are black on the underside and are finger-like with rounded edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

Each stem splits 2 to 7 times; a single tiny flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 66 cm (26.0 inches) wide, with petals that are either vivid yellow or blue, with a yellow center. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 10 curved petals. They are very delicate.

It has an overpowering scent that smells like an ocean breeze, and it has lots of pollen, but it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects , but only one species in particular.

It is suitable for use as a construction material
It is extremely resistant to fire damage.
