Silverclasp

Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short tree grows up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 468 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, twisting trunk covered in paper-thin, knobbly, silver bark, and inside, the light wood is black.

The small clumps of branches are long and thin, with thousands of twigs covered with handfuls of small, silver needles. The needles themselves are robust.

In late summer it produces medium-sized, red, winged seeds that float and land far away.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
Once on fire, it burns very quickly.
It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
