Twining Goldleaf

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 144 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many wide, curved stems covered in very thick, smooth, brown-green speckled bark, and the wood inside is brown.

The branches are very short, thin and wispy with thousands of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of giant, broad, flat, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are solid subtle yellow or gold, with olive streaks, rigid and fuzzy.

In mid-spring it produces thick bunches of medium-sized, blue blossoms with pleated petals. They are very delicate and have an overpowering scent that smells like a woman.

In late autumn spherical fruits ripen. The sticky sky blue skin is thin and spicy, and the crunchy pale green flesh is spicy and very dry. The bright orange seeds are tiny and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.
