Thorned Aquamarine

This big caudiciform grows up to 105 feet (32.0 meters) tall. The stiff, pointed stem is olive, and is covered in brittle bronze spines. The very thick, green trunk can grow to as much as 105 feet (32.0 meters) in diameter. Its orange branches are short stubs.

The jagged-edged, perforated leaves are pale green on the sides and olive at the center. They are flimsy, and are very difficult to pull away.

It is very slow growing, taking 45 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with solid beige petals and a crimson central disk grows at the top, reappearing after 6 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with handfuls of tightly layered narrow petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like wet dog.

The caudiciform's skin is very thick, the aquamarine flesh is sticky, and the hazel sap is thin and can kill if consumed.
