Clinging Peachvine

This small fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 25 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 39 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, slanted trunk covered in very thick, rough, yellow bark, and inside, the light wood is copper-coloured.

The small handful of branches trail down towards the ground and are covered with large amounts of small, thin leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are orange-yellow with olive tips.

In early spring, it produces bunches of small, peach blossoms with umbrella-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have a delicate scent that smells like wet dog.

In late summer it produces very large, circular fruit. The fuzzy yellow skin is delicate and inedible, and the very soft pale green flesh is spicy and powdery. The bronze seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
