Sapphire Pineapple Tree

This colossal fruit tree grows up to 68 feet (20.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 33 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a slender, curved trunk covered in thick, silky, brown and grey bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is burgundy.

The branches trail down to the ground and are covered with very large amounts of large, 3 pointed leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are either silver or bronze, with gold dots.

In early spring, it produces dozens of tiny, indigo blossoms with fan-like petals. They are sturdy and have a delicate scent that smells like pineapple.

In early summer it produces , triangular fruit. The smooth magenta skin is delicate and spicy and salty, and the crunchy pale green flesh is sour and oily. The crimson seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with clear space between them.
