Silverwave Trumpetflower

This short flower grows up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. Its burgundy stem is thick and straight with a curved tip, and the huge, silver leaves are thick with wavy edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from the base up to about halfway.

Each stem splits 1 to 5 times; a single tiny flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 10 cm (3.9 inches) wide, with caramel petals and a yellow center. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet made up of 10 widely spaced, round-tipped petals. They are very delicate.

It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like alcohol, and it has excessive amounts of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator and is ignored by most insect species.
