Silverbark Coffeebloom

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 21 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has numerous long and flexible, straight stems covered in knobbly, silver and white bark, and the wood inside is pale yellow.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright with dozens of twigs that and are covered with sparse amounts of miniature, thick, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are beige on the edges and slate at the center, sturdy and covered in fine hairs.

In early summer it produces dozens of tiny, light green flowers with sickle shaped petals. They are hardy and have a faint scent that smells like coffee.

It is suitable for making paper
It grows well in the sun and full shade.
It is said to be the favourite flower of a legendary person.
