Emerald Splitstem

This short cactus grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. It splits partway up the body to form 3 very narrow, elongated stems. Each stem is moss green, and is covered in dozens of rigid subtle yellow spines. The mushroom-shaped body is emerald, and is dotted with small light grey spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 13 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with petals that are peach in the center, hazel in the middle and yellow at the edges grow at the top, reappearing after 7 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a bowl made up of several tightly layered, round-tipped petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like baby powder.

The cactus's skin is very thick, the cream flesh is rough, and the magenta sap is thin.
