Azure Spire

This small caudiciform grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The very thin stem is gray, and is dotted with small slate spines. It has a wavy, very thick, brown trunk atop a very thick tripod of ridged, exposed roots. The branches are wide and grey and green and are short and thick.

The toothed-edged, thick leaves are found in turquoise and sky blue varieties. They are frail, but take little effort to detach.

It is steady-growing, taking 7 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with alternating petals of violet and hazel, with a sky blue central disk grow at the top, reappearing after 4 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of handfuls of petals in raised layers. It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like a damp log.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the yellow flesh is soft, and the beige sap is thin.
