This brown moss is commonly found blanketing giant areas In rainforests.
It is small, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they spread and grow quickly, and is very rigid; it dislikes being stepped on.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release hundred of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.

It is suitable for making strong rope
It is difficult to kill and will quickly regrow if it falls or if its limbs are knocked off.
