Crimson Heath Moss

This red moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas In heathlands, and In damp forests.
It is small, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps, and is slightly hardy; it can easily endure being trodden on.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release dozens of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
