Flexibark

This huge tree grows up to 100 meters (328.1 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 192 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, wonky trunk covered in ridged, silver and white bark, and inside, the very dense wood is burgundy.

The small clumps of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with handfuls of rough, small, very narrow and elongated leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are either purple, or yellow with blue patches.

In early spring, it produces lots of small, grey blossoms with oblong petals. They fall easily and have a weak scent that smells like pot-purri.

In late summer it forms tiny, pastel orange, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with patches of undergrowth between them.
