Ridged Silverfruit

This small fruit tree grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 26 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, slanted trunk covered in ridged, silver bark, and inside, the very hard wood is mahogany-coloured.

The small handful of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with large amounts of huge, very thin leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are pastel green and dark grey.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of giant, crimson blossoms with asymmetrical petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are sturdy and have a weak scent that smells like burning wood.

In mid-summer it produces , asymmetrical fruit. The rough yellow skin is stretchy and sour, and the very soft yellow flesh is savoury and oily. The gold seed is small and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots grow as a near perfect mirror of the tree above, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.
