Emerald Tear Moss

This emerald moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In damp forests, and On rotten logs.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches, and is extremely sturdy; it can easily endure flooding and draughts.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release thousands of spores; it does not cause any allergic reactions.
