It has dozens of thick, straight stems covered in ridged, brown and grey bark, and the wood inside is pine-coloured.
The branches trail down to the ground with dozens of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of large, needle-like, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are solid pink with pink patches, light and waxy.
It produces large amounts of giant, copper flowers with 8 heart-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have a faint scent that smells like bonfire smoke. In late autumn it forms largelight brown, winged seeds that spin and fall nearby.
It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
The bark is frequently covered in moss.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
