Violet Vine

This large creeper is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 439 feet (133.8 meters) and growing as high as 118 feet (36.0 meters). It prefers to grow on trees.

It takes 11 months for the brown stems to mature, by which point they can have a diameter of 1.0 foot (30 cm) and are soft and flexible.

The perforated, fuzzy leaves reach up to 1.6 feet (48 cm) in length. They are either muted red, or bronze with lilac splotches, and have serrated edges.

During late spring, the creeper produces handfuls of giant pink flowers, and during the late autumn, after flowering, it produces lots of tiny seed pods.
