Pleated Spine Cactus

This modest-sized cactus grows up to 25 feet (7.6 meters) tall. It splits randomly along the body to form 5 pleated stems. Each stem is gray, and is covered in copious amounts of rigid pale yellow spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 4 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are blood red on the underside and pastel orange on the top grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 36 curved petals. It has a weak scent that smells like coconut.

The cactus's skin is extremely thick, the crimson flesh is sticky, and the green sap is thin and causes vomiting if consumed.
