Blue Haze Vine

Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 42 feet (12.8 meters) and growing as high as 68 feet (20.7 meters). It prefers to grow on man-made objects.

It takes 5 years for the orange stems to mature, by which point they can reach a diameter of 5 inches (13 cm) and remain soft and fleshy.

The long, narrow, waxy leaves reach up to 9 inches (23 cm) in length. They are solid blue with hazel splotches, and have jagged edges.

During late spring, the vine produces dozens of small blue flowers, and during the late summer, after flowering, it produces excessive amounts of tiny seed pods.

It is often referred to as the most beautiful of all flowers.
