Clinging Mossflower

This big flower grows up to 4.3 feet (1.3 meters) tall. Its moss green stem is very thin, and the large, moss green leaves are very thin with tattered edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.

Each stem splits 4 to 8 times; a single small flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 43 cm (16.9 inches) wide, with petals that are purple on the edges and cyan at the center. The flower head is largely flat with several widely spaced round-tipped petals. They are very delicate.

It has a soft scent that smells like cinnamon, and it has a fair amount of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird.
