Thornvine

Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This big vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 258 feet (78.6 meters) and growing as high as 32 feet (9.8 meters). It prefers to grow on man-made objects.

It takes 2 years for the silver stems to mature, by which point they often have a diameter of 1.0 foot (30 cm) and are thick and twisted.

The long, tapering, smooth leaves reach up to 1.8 feet (56 cm) in length. They are either slate or purple, with blood red patches, and have wavy edges.

During late spring, the vine produces thick bunches of average blue flowers, and during the mid-summer, after flowering, it produces a handful of tiny fruits.

It usually houses a colony of beneficial insects.
It is said to be able to live for hundreds of years.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
The stems are covered in large spikes.
