Burgundy Splitter

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This short cactus grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall. It splits randomly along the body to form 3 tapering stems. Each stem is burgundy, and is covered in many rigid peach spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 18 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are generally gold; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 25 petals. It has a soft scent that smells like candle wax.

The cactus's skin is extremely thick, the light grey flesh is soft, and the bronze sap is thin.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
It releases hallucinogenic smoke when burned.
