Clinging Skybloom

This small tree grows up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 431 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in delicate, rough, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the soft wood is pale brown.

The sparse amount of branches are long and slender and are covered with large amounts of crispy, miniature, broad, flat leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are solid sky blue with pink patches.

In early spring, it produces lots of medium-sized, pink blossoms with 7 pointed petals. They fall easily and have a strong scent that smells like faeces.

In late summer it forms medium-sized, slate seed pods.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
