Teardrop Moss

This gray moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas On trees.
It is short, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches, and is overwhelmingly flimsy.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release thousands of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.
