Copperleaf

This small flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its grey stem is very thick and straight with a curved tip, and the huge, copper leaves are stiff, pointed with irregular edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Two tiny flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 4 cm (1.6 inches) wide, with petals that are either blue or cream, with a yellow center. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet made up of 6 tightly layered, round-tipped petals. They fall easily.

It has the faintest scent that smells like old books, and it has lots of pollen. It is a self-pollinator, but is also particularly attractive to insects.
