Burgundy Bine
Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)This small bine is a fast growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 20 feet (6.1 meters) and growing as high as 111 feet (33.8 meters). It prefers to grow on specific trees.
It takes 3 months for the burgundy stems to mature, by which point they sometimes have a diameter of 2 cm (0.8 inches) and are rough and gnarled.
The very narrow and elongated, fuzzy leaves reach up to 4 inches (10 cm) in length. They are found in bronze and black varieties, and have toothed edges.
During late spring, the bine produces copious amounts of tiny yellow flowers.
