Caramel Creeper
Climbing plant type: Creeper (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)This modest-sized creeper is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 31 feet (9.4 meters) and growing as high as 111 feet (33.8 meters).
It takes 3 years for the caramel stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 5 inches (13 cm) and are smooth and woody.
The sickle shaped, covered in fine hairs leaves reach up to 1.5 feet (46 cm) in length. They are generally black, and have ripped edges.
During late spring, the creeper produces thick bunches of tiny turquoise flowers, and during the early autumn, after flowering, it produces a few small seed pods.
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
The stems are covered in large spikes.
