Pleated Blue Cupactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This average-sized cactus grows up to 33 feet (10.1 meters) tall. It splits at the base to form 2 pleated stems. Each stem is brown, and is dotted with small washed-out green spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 41 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with petals that are vibrant blue on the edges and ashy purple at the center, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a cup with 43 tightly layered, narrow petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like rainy days.

The cactus's skin is nearly impenetrable, the aquamarine flesh is rough, and the magenta sap is thin.

It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
It is suitable for making paper
