Luminafruit Tree

This big fruit tree grows up to 24 feet (7.3 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 16 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in fine, wrinkled, dark brown bark, and inside, the dense wood is burgundy-brown.

The thick clumps of branches trail down across the ground and are covered with large amounts of huge, spear shaped leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are brilliant red and violet.

In early spring, it produces lots of medium-sized, amber blossoms with many layers of petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have the faintest scent that smells like petrol.

In mid-summer it produces tiny, wide fruit. The smooth hazel skin is peel-able and inedible, and the slightly crunchy lilac flesh is salty and sour and oily. The light brown seeds are tiny and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
