Clinging Trumpetvine

Flower type: Annual (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This giant flower grows up to 15.5 feet (4.7 meters) tall. Its emerald stem is thick and splits into 8 branching stems three quarters of the way up, and the small, red leaves are broad, flat with smooth edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.

Each stem splits 2 to 6 times; a single tiny flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 126 cm (49.6 inches) wide, with petals that are copper on the underside and olive on the top. The flower head is shaped like a trumpet made up of dozens of widely spaced, narrow petals. They are sturdy.

It has a mildly strong scent that smells like grass cuttings, and it has very little pollen. It is a self-pollinator, but is also visited by a variety of insects.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
