Waterstem Pine

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 60 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several narrow, straight stems covered in thin, rough, brown-green bark, and the wood inside is pale brown.

The branches trail down to the ground that and are covered with small bunches of giant, spear shaped, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are generally green, frail and clammy.

It produces thousands of medium-sized, peach flowers with 2 teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have an intense scent that smells like bleach. In late autumn it forms giantslate, tough-shelled seeds.
