Emerald Shield Moss

This gray-green moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps In rainforests, In heathlands, and In damp forests.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps, and is very flimsy.
When mature, emerald shield-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release dozens of spores.
