Spiralpine

This average-sized tree grows up to 25 meters (82.0 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 257 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, crooked trunk covered in very thick, knobbly, light gray bark, and inside, the light wood is pale brown.

The small bunches of branches are short, rigid and upright, with thousands of twigs covered with small amounts of huge, gray-green needles. The needles themselves are durable.

In late summer it produces tiny, beige aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.
