Silverstem Grass

Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in its stem)

This short, yellow-green grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The finger-like stalks grow in extensive patches that are sturdy and flexible.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, silver tuft.

During the early winter, it produces excessive amounts of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a modest amount of large grains.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
